Acupuncture Treament

Acupuncture is a method of healing which has been practiced in the Orient for over 2,000 years. Acupuncturists consider the body and mind as dual aspects of an energetic whole. Illness is a manifestation of a disharmony of life or qi (chee). This life energy circulates through the internal organs in specific pathways throughout the body.

Acupuncture is the manipulation of the needles inserted into points along the energy pathways to adjust imbalances within the body and to treat disease. Often acupuncture offers optimal results in conjunction with conventional medicine.

What To Expect

Since acupuncture uses a holistic approach, it is important for the therapist to gather information on all of the body's systems. This is done by discussing medical history, taking the pulses, and examining the tongue.

Heat, electricity or therapeutic massage can also be used on points to enhance treatment. Most patients describe treatment as deeply relaxing and energizing

About Needles & Other Methods

Acupuncture needles are far different from the hypodermic needles used to gove injections. In treatment, the needles used are hair-thin. The insertion may feel like a quick pinch, or may be hardly noticeable. Sensations of pressure, fullness, warmness, or tingling may follow. Sterile, disposable needles are used exclusively..

Cupping is used in conjunction with acupuncture to release stagnation, either emotional or physical that may be causing you pain.

Gwasha is used to help the flow of Qi and blood within the meridians, it is simiar to and can be more releasing then a deep tissue massage.

Electro-Acupuncture helps to stimulate the needle to help the flow of Qi and blood within the meridians
